Pressing digits on remote enters digit twice or moves placement twice making it impossible to enter codes , hit correct tabs etc  . Have changed batteries and wiped down remote. Also tried to reset and pair again but need to be able to set code and problem makes this impossible. Any help out there

Sounds like something caught under the keys and double-entry is the result.

Try ordering a replacement remote here , and the TV Control app on a compatible mobile device as an interim measure.
