V6 firmware update?

Hi All

I have noticed that on one of my V6 boxes when watching a channel that it gives me a option on screen to press the blue button for the HD channel?

Is this a update or a Setting?

just so I can get my 2nd box to do the same.

Re: V6 firmware update?

It is a new feature for V6 boxes that gives you the option when viewing a channel to switch to a HD one if available.

This under Help & Settings, Help, Help Home, Customer News, Changes to Virgin TV.

It is not a bad idea when you have a few minutes to check out the customer news on your V6 box Smiley Happy

Re: V6 firmware update?

Lucky you. My 2 V6 boxes show different software builds and neither offer the blue button HD option.:<

Re: V6 firmware update?

That is the current production level.

20.7.6.RC20 is being piloted in some areas. No published schedule for roll-out.

Re: V6 firmware update?

My V6 boxes have

20.5.8.1.RC17-VMB-11-C68

20.5.8.1a.RC4-VMB-11-C68

Power off reset does not cause any change.

They’re the two versions of the current production level of software. Don’t know why there are two.

Your area hasn’t received the new level yet.

Re: V6 firmware update?

That explains why there is no obvious difference between them.

Just hope the update at least makes nothing worse, as happened with the old Tivo. Bug fixes are fine, but I have no pressing need for additional features and fancy graphics that slow things down, or introduce new bugs.
