V6 box move downstairs

Hi When the engineer fitted my new v6 box he put it upstairs as I have a TiVo box downstairs and had got a lot of things that I had to watch, he put a connector on the back of my v6 box and said when I was ready to put box downstairs it just had to be connected to cable but on my TiVo box there is a attenuator 10db attached does this have to be attached to my new box that I am moving. Thanks

Re: V6 box move downstairs

The attenuator should stay in the location where it is, as it balances the signal on that outlet.

Cable customer since 1993. Services: FH TV, Sky Sports & Movies (2xV6), Talk Anytime Phone, VIVID 350, Virgin PAYG Mobile

Re: V6 box move downstairs

Thanks for your reply, my attenuator is a 10db so shall I unscrew out of old box and the engineer put a connector on the v6 box so I can just attatch the attenuator to the end of connection

Re: V6 box move downstairs

Hi Sueo7,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community, as advised by nodrogd The attenuator should stay in the location where it is, as it balances the signal on that outlet.

Kind regards

Paul.
