Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

Use BBC iPlayer if you've a recent Samsung TV.

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

I do find this rather amusing :
"Not a great endorsement of Virgin! Pure greed! For what you have to pay, they could at least allow one of the TV Go devices to be a smart tv."

A TV Go device to be a smart TV, that supposes that you can carry about a TV from room to room or when you are out and about. The app is intended for portable devices, not for TV's smart or otherwise.

I can just imagine the next complaint "Why can I not watch my 60 inch smart TV when I am in the supermarket, Virgin get your act together and get this sorted out"  PMSL

You can't learn anything from a mistake until you admit that you've made it.

Loving the lack of positivity on here! If you had read my use case, you would understand why I wanted it, but please don't let it stop you from having a pop!

Once my contract is up, I will not be renewing with Virgin.

I would be prepared to pay a small fee for this.

The "small fee" you pay for this is the additional multi-room subscription.

That said, according to the BBC you should be able to set your TV's iPlayer app to your local region which may eliminate the issue.

Or, if you're resigning yourself to running coax from the nearest aerial point, why not instead run an HDMI cable from the nearest V6 box with using a splitter?

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

Thanks. I thought about running a cable from the V6 box, but it's not practical. Would need to take up floorboards and drill through 12" walls. Also, I've heard this is not a workable solution.

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

HDMI in from a splitter, then sends wirelessly to the receiver which you plug into the TV.

Not a clue on cost/effectiveness, as with anything wireless it's subject to environment. Which is why I originally suggested just a long cable.
