Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

Having just recently been upgraded to two new V6 boxes, I thought great, I can access my account on a tablet, or PC, so a Smart TV should work, shouldn't it?

Wrong!!! - unless anybody can tell me otherwise?

I can't download the App, and I'm locked-out on the TV web browser?

So in the same room - I can view my account on a tablet, but not on the adjacent TV?

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

it only works on phones and tablet and PC's smart TV's and casting to TV's is not allowed

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

If you want it on a second TV then the only route is Multi-room (which you have to pay £7.50 a month extra for). Why should VM shoot themselves in the foot & give you an easy route to bypass having a second TV box?

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

Thanks for your reply.

But that's not the issue. If you look at my original message, I'm already paying the extra for a second box - I just want to view it on another TV!!

Then you need a 3rd box

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

...I know, I figured that out.

Where's the logic in that?

So much for the 'sales pitch' and the wonderful adverts?

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

Some customers happily pay for more than 2 boxes. So what I have said still applies.

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

I wish I'd read this before signing up and IO suggest that the sales teams at VirginMedia NEED TO READ IT TOO as they sell this feature to new customers. Total con and the complaints team just say read the small print... this is mis-selling

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

I agree.  Our engineer actually told me I could downloaf the app on my smart tvnupstaits and watch it on that tv so basically flat out lied as im sure he would have known this isn't possible🙄

Re: Using Virgin TV Go on a Samsung Smart TV

Offshore will tell you pretty well anything you want to hear to keep you happy. They have very little tech knowledge of the way the ancilary systems in the UK work.

A lot of VM installers are contractors, & likewise don't deal with the add-on services not directly involved with installation.
