TV services stopping on 28th Feb.

I have received a letter from VM saying I NEED to upgrade to a V6 box or loose my TV service on 28th Feb. The letter tells me that this is a FREE UPGRADE.

However, when I try to follow the instructions vm.com/getyourv6, it first lists it as free, but I find it actually costs an extra £16 per month.

I don't know about you, but I find this close to "obtaining payment by deception”. Is it free, or are VM making a false representation (fraud)?

Many thanks,

Nick

Ring VM and select the 'thinking of leaving' option. You will get through to Retentions (who do a lot more than just try to retain customers). Explain that to them and ask them why the increased charges. If they say that is right, ask them for a better deal.

Magic iptv has more to offer.

79 euros a month for twice as many channels, I think it is time to switch!

I am a former police officer, this has been now forwarded to the fraud office.

Seriously? If you were a former police officer you would know they would not take any action with this.. especially as you don't appear to have followed it up by calling VM.

Re: TV services stopping on 28th Feb.

If they take any action is up to them.

The important thing is reporting susceptive crime. It’s up to them to investigate.

It's clearly a mistake and not a crime!

Are you sure they're actually going to withdraw your TV service? They are phasing out older TV boxes and offering upgrades but AFAIK no-one is being forced just yet. Plus, they're only offering an upgrade to one box per household, so if you have two older boxes only one is replaced.

T&Cs on the upgrade page state: "You can only upgrade one of your old TV boxes for free. You'll be swapping your V+ or VHD box (if you've got two boxes that are the same model, you'll get to choose)."

I have one of the affected boxes and haven't received any communication as of yet.

Re: TV services stopping on 28th Feb.

I wish I could post a picture of the letter.

Yes, it is “Phasing out”

Yes it is promised that it will cost “No More””

Yes it does.

A letter has now been sent to the local press and to “action fraud”.

I did call and I now will receive a £28 per month discount, which means I get TV free for a year.

Do you think that they are feeling guilty?

You can prove that can you? Good person! Many will just accept it. This needs to go further!
