Got the converter today and virgin now plays through the DVD recorder it is watchable but there is a marked drop off in picture quality do you think this can be improved at all, thanks in advance for any further suggestions.
Our picture back from the DVD recorder is pretty good as the recorder is the type that can "upscale" the picture to close on HD (1080p) quality, and the signal goes back to the TV from the recorder via an HDMI lead. Can you do that with your DVD recorder? Also, if your signal converter is similar to ours, there is a switch on it that can be flicked to accommodate the signal coming in - worth trying.
OK thanks for that , though you'd think virgin would provide some kind of interface , the recordings we're good from sky
Analogue recording outlets were provided before we had PVR's (devices with built in disks). When you consider that copyright holders have always resented this facility, the opportunity to get rid of it when digital came along was too big to resist, hence they are all disappearing.
