I have the same issue. Also when going to ITV hub. I think it may be a cookie thing. Seems an issue with the Virgin boxes and not my iPlayer account etc. As I don't have the issue with other devices. 

Did you ever get to the bottom of it?

When using the IPlayer and ITV Hub apps i have to go on the internet and sign in with a pass code every time!.  It has only recently started doing this and its quite annoying. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Edited reply - this perfectly illustrates why duplicate posts are a bad idea, with the same query posted in two different places. I've merged them.

Just by means of ruling one variable out, how are you accessing the iPlayer? Are you using the apps menu? Or going via the V6 UI/EPG, and clicking "watch now" on a BBC programme?
