Purple and Orange flashing light on Virgin box

The TV itself says starting up but it never does. It stays on this screen and the lights on the box flashes purple and orange (maybe yellow or white...can't quite remember now as i am in work)

It has been like this for a week, it happened just before we went away and it is still like it now. 

I have tried on 4 separate occasions and days to get onto your online chat but it constantly says not available even though it is between the working hours. I am hard of hearing so i cannot call. 

I need this resolved ASAP. Thank you.

I have this same problem and cant get through to anyone on the number or 'chat' option. Light flashing and turning to purple. Says it is starting up but does not. Could a Virgin Media person contact me (phone or email) please to talk through how I repiair this? Thank you

Hi, thanks for replying. It's whatever came as standard starting in June last year £39 a month package for phone and broadband but no TV extras. It initially did work. Reboot leads to same, stuck at ''starting up"

Last chance saloon if its a V6 - try a reset.
Turn the V6 off with the switch at the back of the box
Push and hold the "+" and "standby" buttons (on the box front) together and then turn the box on at the switch and wait till you see the welcome screen then release the buttons.

Thanks jbrennand - still not sure it's a V6, but tried it anyway with no sucess.
