I have found today a lot of pixelation on live TV and current recordings mostly on pretty much all HD channels,.This is not present on apps such as iPlayer and Prime video or on on demand shows. I've rebooted and checked tightness of connections. I have 3 V6 and 1 TIVO box and all are behaving similarly. Is it coincidence that this has developed since yesterday's outage. Old recordings from days go look fine. Virgin service status shows all is now fixed apart from a couple of minor faults.
[MOD EDIT: Subject title changed for clarity and threads merged into one. Ticket also raised for issue under F009490521 ]

For about a week.now our TV picture keeps flicking and pixelation blocks keep appearing. We are trying to watch a programme now and it is so bad its happening every few seconds.
What caused this? How can i fix it? I have done various things- gone through chatbot help and nothing. advice appreciated.

Me too. Several in Peterborough are reporting this on the V6 pages of this forum as well. Even the engineer who came round mine today says it is happening on the V6 box in the local virgin office meeting room! Because of this he couldn't do anything and told me to wait for a fix. However, if you look on service status or speak to Virgin, they say there is no area issue and have booked a second engineer visit for Monday. What a mess.

Yep I’m in Peterborough too. Slightly better this evening but still annoying & wonder why I stay with Virgin.

I've moved your posts to the V6 board.
Pixellated pictures on live TV are often the sign of a signal fault. If you've rebooted your box once, then there's likely a fault somewhere, so this will need VM to intervene. You're likely to need either an engineer visit or a replacement box, depending on what VM's remote diagnostics turn up.
First check the automated faults line for any existing issues in your area that could be the cause: 0800 5610061. If nothing's reported, assume VM don't know about your fault and ideally you'll need to call them.
150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone - choose the options for "I have a fault with my TV service". Alternatively you can wait on here for staff to respond, which may take a day or so.

I'm in PE3 and had it since at least Tuesday, Before the big problem they had. I thought of calling but if it's all this area getting an engineer out isn't going to make any difference.
Been on the service status web page and it says there are two issues. One should be fixed by 08:00 4/12/21. The other by 10:00. well lets see.

Out of interest, is this affecting any specific channels?
Specific examples including SD/HD would be useful if VM are to look at the possibility of this being a wider issue.

Afraid to say it’s every channel including Talking Pictures where it’s mainly black & white pictures from the 50’s!
