All sorted!!

Rosie checked my V6 online and found a hardware fault. Engineer popped round and replaced it. Now works fine.

Get Virgin to check your V6 box online.

I'm still having the issue, happened again today and a pull of the plug is the only thing to solve it.  I also (for a while now) have the info ribbon pop up randomly whilst watching live TV and when chasing play the picture will freeze for a second then carry on.  It appears to do this (the freezing for a second) when the next show is starting on the live stream.
