How can I turn off the pin request? It does our heads in with it saying it’s before 9pm.

You can’t as it’s a mandatory Ofcom requirement:

The PIN is a mandatory requirement on channels that wish to show age-restricted content during the day. Off-hand that's Sky Max, Sky Showcase & Sky Comedy - if memory serves me correctly.
Any complaints about this should be directed at Ofcom, as per Ernie's posts. Virgin Media are legally obliged to implement this.
