HW-Q950T Soundbar set up

Steve1977
Dialled in

Soundbar: Samsung HW-Q850T

TV: Panasonic GZ950

Having problems in setting up the soundbar 100% and would appreciate any input if possible 🙂

Basically the instructions state the following method:

HDMI2 (arc) of TV to HDMI ARC of Soundbar

HDMI1 of Soundbar to V6 box

However when I do this, the TV will not show a picture if the soundbars input is ARC. I can manually change it to HDMI1 (on soundbar) and then it works then. Essentially, ARC input from the soundbar will not show a picture on V6.

I've seen posters previously suggest an alternative method:

HDMI ARC of TV to HDMI ARC to Soundbar

Spare HDMI port of TV to V6 Box

But when I do that, the picture is slightly out of synch.

Hi Steve1977,

Have you tried HDMI1 from TV to V6?

You have a more sophisticated soundbar which accepts content from a source device (a V6 in your case) and sends the video to the TV. So, the instructions are correct. If, however, you have multiple sources you will need to connect them to your TV and get the audio from the HDMI ARC to ARC cable.
