Error C233 on different broadband

I have recently changed broadband provider but remained with Virgin TV. I am now getting error C233 and although I have connected wirelessly to the new broadband and the TV guide is showing ‘to be announced’.

I have rebooted both boxes, tried reconnecting a few times, with no success. 

Am I missing a step?

Hello

How is your Tivo connected to the internet is it wired or wireless ?

As the error C233 means there is a problem with the wireless settings.

Thanks.

I have gone into settings and connected the new wireless settings. It connects to the WiFi, but when I try to connect to Virgin media services it says it failed whilst negotiating.

Looking at the Port Configuration Test, it states the ports listed need to be opened on the router. Is this something I can do, or do I need to contact Virgin?

Hello

Many thanks now this could be down to your router, as from my knowledge the V6 box isnt getting an IP address, so depending who you have the internet from, in there router config could be limited to the amount of devices it will give an IP address out too.

So go it Home - Help & Settings - Settings - Network and that screen top right does it show an IP address.

Hello

Okay VM cannot open the ports on a 3rd party router, you will need to speak to the Internet Provider.

The answer is simple, The V6 will only work with Virgin Media broadband. Now you no longer use it you cannot use the V6.

You will need to call and request a TiVo box, which has its own broadband connection to VM.

Just realised I raised this question in the wrong place - I have a TiVo box.....

As it’s TiVo, I assume I don’t need a new box and as per previous advise, I just need the broadband provider to open the required ports?

if you have a Tivo and not a V^ then the tivo doesn't have a wireless connection. If you can connect wirelessly you must have the V^

I thought the V6 required VM internet to work
