Re: BBC iPlayer 4k World Cup coverage confirmed but to be "restricted"

I can only watch for about 5-10 minutes before it starts buffering and then eventually I lose sound entirely. I have to restart the stream and it's fine again for another short time.

Exactly the same for me.

V6 box useless no sound and constant buffering what a pain as when it’s working it’s great

Trying to watch the Spain stream and it's just buffering instantly and sound is gone.

Is this a problem on BBC's end do you think?

Definitely a problem when watching through V6. I know people watching it on their tv and it might buffer a couple of times but no sound dropping. Been running ok for me for 10 mins, longest its been ok over the two broadcasts.

Seem to be able to exit iPlayer and go back in no problem. Not sure it's worth the hassle.

Re: BBC iPlayer 4k World Cup coverage confirmed but to be "restricted"

I can't access the UHD at all. I was in iPlayer before the program started at 6:20.

Kept refreshing but didn't see a new tab anywhere.

Clicking on the live stream only gets me HD.

If I search for Match of the day live I get a UHD optoop but it errors every time with "something went wrong...".

Your telly can't handle it maybe? On the home screen select the game and choose UHD. Works fine, for a while until it buffers then drops sound for me. Can exit and go back in and it works for a while again.

I'm done. The sound dropping is too annoying. Will check later in the tournament but doubt it will be any better. V6 issue I suspect.

Re: BBC iPlayer 4k World Cup coverage confirmed but to be "restricted"

So iPlayer on VM didn't have an optoop for UHD but iPlayer on my TV app did.

Also it's very dark!

Re: BBC iPlayer 4k World Cup coverage confirmed but to be "restricted"

I have an Sony XE90 and have not been presented with the World Cup UHD Splash screen appearing when starting the iPlayer app on the V6, until about 30 minutes ago.

Problem;

Switching between Beta and Standard version i could see an option to play the UHD trial ( Planet Earth clip i think ) , awesome, however no sign of the WC splash screen or FA cup clip.

I finally tracked my issue down to the following setting

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00167580

AND<edit>

The V6 has to be connected to HDMI2 or HDMI3.

Before following the steps in the URL i was trying to force HLG and BT.2020 from the action menu which clearly the iPlayer app on the V6 does not pickup.

Hope it helps...
