Volume with older Sony receiver doesn’t work. Works with Sky Q and Apple TV

Hi,

Had Virgin installed today with the 360 box. I have an older Sony receiver model number STR-DB1070. And it seems impossible to pair it with the remote for the volume. Tried entering the model number multiple times and it doesn’t work.

I can control the receiver volume with Apple TV and Sky Q also. But not the Virgin remote.

Based on my research I think it’s because it’s a Bluetooth only remote ? Whereas my receiver needs to use IR signals as there are no HDMI ports on the back.

Is there a solution or am I stuck using 2 remotes?
