V360 All in One Cable

Just got a new V360 box and Hub that comes with an all in one cable with built in splitter that is supposed to connect everything.

However, my Hub and V360 are in different rooms so the all in one cable only connects the hub to the isolator cable the internet comes into.

I rang the helpline, and after a long wait the person on the other end could not understand what was needed, and 'inadvertently' cut me off!

How/where do I get a 2m F Type to a push fit Coaxial cable that can connect the V360 box to the cable coming into the house in a different room?

Currently using a bodge job of TV coax cable and a connector, but picture quality is poor.

Thanks

All Virgin TV boxes and hubs need a co-ax connection to function - it's that, the carries the incoming broadband/TV signals. All of VM's cabling forms part of their network and should only be installed/maintained by their own techs, to avoid inducing RF noise to the local network - quite apart from possibly causing the issues you're having with pictures.

Are you saying you don't have one of these where the kit is sited? If so, you'll need a manned installation.

You should not be using your own cabling or connectors. VM use specialised triple screened cable as the frequency spectrum used for their services conflicts with those used by Freeview TV, DAB Radio & mobile phone network signals. The poor picture may be due to noise from these services leaking into the network through your "bodge cable job", which, if it reaches the street cabinet then gets amplified & all your neighbours end up with the same problems as you.

As above, you need a tech install to fit the correct cable. If you contact VM immediately they will send one out free of charge to do the job.

Hi All,

As I mentioned the all in one cable supplied is in a different room, and would need to be about 20mtrs long not a tiny 1mtr.

I used to have a Virgin connector coming into the room with the TV but it went back with the old TiVo box when I cancelled Virgin 18 months ago and moved to Sky.

I have already rang Virgin, spent 30 minutes talking to a guy who had no comprehension of what I needed and was ‘cut off’ when he said he was going to look at my account details. He never rang me back despite having my details and the number I called from……

I sent a Twitter message and they said to try ringing again, as if I don’t have better things to do….

The prospect of spending another 30-60 minutes just hanging on to talk to someone (who may or may not have a clue about cables) is not appealing…..

Just a thought, but I wonder if you're - albeit with good intentions - overcomplicating the issue with the telephone agents.

If you don't have a working co-ax connection point in the room you want to use the equipment, that may be a simpler concept for the C/S agents to grasp and elicit the required outcome - i.e. a manned installation.

Otherwise you can wait around these boards for staff to respond, but this might take another day or so.

Decided to give the help line another call this morning to try and get this sorted.

imagine how surprised I was when my call got answered in less than 5 minutes 😀

A vey nice agent understood the issue with the coaxial cable and has booked a fault repair for Tuesday.

Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

And tanks to those of you who took the time to reply 👍
