On the title's Overview screen, press up then right in order to select Subtitles. If captions are available, they'll have the Closed Caption or Subtitles icon.
Then you have the option to turn them On or Off
When the program is actually playing press Up twice on the navigational button, then highlight subtitles and press OK to turn On or Off
