Watching Sheffield united v Forest. Both channels showing it getting picture break up and freezing. No message from sky to apologise for technical issues. Is this a sky, virgin or my connection issue?

I had the same issues (Teesside area) nothing reported using Check Service Status or on the the automated Service Status number 0800 561 0061.
I contacted my friend, he has Sky Q and he was seeing the same issues.
