Hi
Have 2 Tv,s and 2 boxes. One downstairs and one in my sons room upstairs.
when I try to record downstairs it uses the upstairs box
The upstairs box may be switched off and I have no access to my sons room so I cannot record or watch a recording when my son is out
can I get my recordings to go th my box?

Hi @Aland51
It sounds like you may have a main box and a mini box. The mini box hasn't got a hard drive so it sends a signal to the main box so it can record on there.
If the main box is turned off then it can't record the program.
The mini box is smaller than the main box, (pictures below) so it might just be case of swapping the boxes around so you have the main box downstairs.

Hi again @Aland51
I'm glad that's fixed your recording issues.
It sounds like you previously had a V6 box which would received an over the air update, along with a new remote to convert it to a 360.
If you added a second box then VM would have sent out the smaller 360 mini. Likewise if you previously had one of the older Tivo boxes that would have been replaced with a 360 mini box.

Hi Aland51,
Just to add that if the the main box was set to fast start or active start you should have still been able to watch and set recordings with the mini box, unless the power was being turned off or the box is set to eco start.
