I am considering moving to 360 from current TIVo set up. I will need two new mini boxes. Coaxial Cabling in place for major box and one mini box. However need new mini box in a room without cabling. Can Virgin install the cable in a room with no easy route in? Ask them for a site visit or ask an outside cabling specialist?
Thanks

Have I been confused by believing I need to link the mini box to a cable?
The current V6 is to the VM cable. In the instructions for the mini box it says it is best to use a wifi connection. I can also install an extra wifi/Ethernet adapter in the room and use the current wifi mesh set which is also LAN to the house electrical cabling.

The mini box needs the virgin coax cable connection for live TV, the internet connection can be either ethernet cable or wifi and is required for everything else.
Both boxes require 2 connections.

Thanks
Tempted to go the Sky route if this is not solvable.

What was the result of your survey or has it not been done yet.
It has been reported on here that if you install the mini box where you have both connections to activate it, then you can use it without the virgin coax connected, to watch live TV you then need to set the channel to record, which it will on the main box, and then watch it as a recording on the mini.
Not the recommended way of installing but something that apparently does work. You will get a message about the coax not being connected.

It will also not work with any Red Button channels like those on Sky Sports, as these have no EPG number, so cannot be recorded.

Thats when the red button on Sky Sports actually works.

I had a similar issue when I had VM (without the O2) installed back in 2018.
I wanted a second box installed in a bedroom but on an internal wall.
The installer fitted the cable for the main box (external wall to living room) and left me with additional cable for me to install up an external wall, through the attic and down the internal wall.
He then came back to terminate and check the installation.
Great customer experience and exactly what was needed.
Perhaps it's worth mentioning that the installer is no longer an employee of VM(O2) - probably because he was too helpful

Hi @Rokerite
Is there a purple envelope in the top right of the page?
Any private messages will be there.
Please let me know if you haven't received this.
