Hello,
Due to WarnerMedia’s plans to move to a subscription model for the CNN news channel, it will no longer be available on Virgin TV after 31 August. Customers can still watch and catch up on the latest news on major news channels such as BBC News, Sky News, Bloomberg and many others.
For more information on this channel closure, please click here.
Many thanks,

CNN+ was not available in the UK, I don't think the closure in the US will change anything. The separate paywall for the international channel, which saw it removed from every platform except Sky, has not been removed.

It was (still is available) in the UK - https://edition.cnn.com/specials/live-cnni-uk

That's not CNN+. It's a pay to watch live stream. CNN+ was a Netflix like service full of CNN programmes, documentaries etc available only in the US.

I give it till the end of the year and I have a feeling that CNN International will back on Virgin Media by then. Even the new CEO of Warner Brothers Discovery has made some comments that he wants everyone worldwide to be watching CNN as the quality of journalism is by far better than anything else out there. With CNN now giving itself away for free with no advertisements on Samsung TV Plus (on Samsung devices) and the Rakuten app alongside still being available on Sky that likely tells you something about how their paid subscription service on CNN's website is going so I say the chances are looking better every day that Virgin Media and CNN will reach some deal later in the year

It dosen't necessarily mean the broadcast channels will return. Availability on satellite in the UK is mainly because there is still an existing contract for an EPG slot on Sky. The service is available on the internet for free, & could easily be added to the free tier on Discovery+ at a fraction of the outlay for a satellite transponder.
