360 remote wont control tv sound

Hi there upgraded to 360 TV and followed instructions to pair remote to my TV.

While setting up remote, sound on TV goes up but remote won't change sound when under normal use.

I have reset the remote. re-paired the remote to the  TV.

Restarted 360 box.

Factory reset remote all to no avail.

I know the TV is old but if the sound changes when pairing then surely it should work after. 

Any help would be appreciated

Hi @Richy088 

If the volume buttons aren't working on your 360 remote then double check under Settings > Audio Video > Volume Keys Control that it isn't set to (TV make) Amplifier instead of your TV make. When leaving this screen press the "back" button (just to the left of the microphone button) on your remote, and not the OK button.

  • Thanks for the quick response but I can't find the volume keys control under audio video. I took a photo as below.

 as you can see the volume bar at the bottom goes up during pairing

 you have to click close then when trying the volume controls it doesn't work. 

Have contacted virginmedia and they are sending out a new remote controller. 

Will post if that works when i receive it

Sorry about late reply. 

New Remote turned up,  tried settings did everything on the page to control the TV press OK signal sent for volume,  yes works,  press ok for info,  yes works, your remote now paired to your TV.

Close.

Try adjusting volume whilst watching TV, no joy.

I can't understand it. If it operates on setup why not on normal operation.

I have now tried 3 remotes (2 boxes upgraded to 360). My 2nd TV works fine volume power mute the lot. 

I'm even contemplating changing the make of the TV in the settings to see if I can get it work under another brand name.

Thanks for coming back to the thread. Please could you ensure both TV boxes are on so we can run further tests 🙂 May need to be left off Eco-Mode at least till we get this fixed.
