  • I have 2 virgin 360 boxes. If I record a program on one of them it also record’s the same program on the 2nd box. 2 boxes should give 2 terabyte of storage    By duplicating recordings on both boxes I only have 1 terabyte. This didn’t happen on V6 boxes I had !!!!
Help. Am I missing something or am I doing something wrong

Hi @Chippyuk

If you had two V6 boxes and they were both converted to TV360 then you would still retain the full recording capacity on both boxes.

However, if one of yuor boxes was the older TIVO then it would have been swappeed out for a mini box which doesn't have a hard drive..

When going to Settings > System> Recording Settings you can select each box individually and the interface now lists the percentage used on each box (applies to upgraded V6 boxes as they all have hard drives)

When setting up a series link go to Advanced and select which box you want the recording to be made on. It will then be recorded on that box going forward, even if the default recording box is the other one. So all you need to do is reset your series links to record on the box you want them to. Unfortunately to reset the links, you'll need to delete and reset. You can also use the same method to record individual programs rather than series.

You're not duplicating recordings, and it's in the nature of TV360 that the recordings list is pooled - having separate lists of recordings mutually accessible is how TiVo/V6 software works.

When you're setting a recording on TV360, the advanced options let you decide which box to record onto. But it'll still show on both boxes.
