360 Box's. Connected to wrong network error messages

MichaelSimpson
Tuning in

Both box's keeps saying you're connected to the wrong network all the time. Also service suspended message. Connected via ethernet from router (Netgear) as super hub 3 is in modem mode. And does exactly the same with WiFi connection. The audio stays while the visual goes blank. Then network wizard gets you to confirm WiFi and everything thing works perfect and then intermittently breaks again. This is happening many time a day on both boxes.

Could this be a non super hub router issue?

Are you using VM's DNS at the router or a third party e.g. Google or OpenDNS?

If you're using a third party try using VM's to see if the issue resolves (the 360 may need access to something only resolved by VM's DNS) .  If it doesn't resolve the issue or you're already using VM's DNS then I'd call in a fault.

Hello,

The Hive boiler IQ, Phillips Hue bridge, my pc and front room 360. Nothing else. As the 360's seem to need internet connection should they both have the coax connected from the VM wall sockets as well, they are both connected wonder what they supply to the 360 if they are internet fed.

The minis need both an internet (ethernet/wifi) connection and a coax connection.

Live (linear) TV is fed from the coax connection. Recordings from the main box, apps, firmware updates, on demand etc. are delivered over the ethernet/wifi connection

Ok.

Thanks.

Morning,

So call an engineer out is the advice?

Many thanks

If you're still getting the same error then you'll need to call VM - go through "thinking of leaving" and ask to be put through to the 360 team.

They *may* be able to fix things remotely but will be best placed to decide if a tech visit is necessary or not.

Morning,

Since replacing Netgear with the Asus router no dropouts and 360's are absolutely solid with no more network connection errors.

🙂
