hi my house phone has stopped working I can't get a dialling tone no incoming call and can't make any out going calls, I have checked all sockets are in properly so think there must be a fault in the line
Use the Check Service Status (top right of this page) so see if there is a known fault affecting your area.
If not you will need an engineer. You can wait for a member of the Forum Team to pick this up ... could be days. Alternatively, if you have access to another phone you could call the fault in ... 150 from a VM phone or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
Same issue on my landline. Those dialling in hear a ringing tone and also get diverted to the answermachine however the house phone(s) does not ring. No dial tone on any of my handsets (1 cordless and 2 plugged in). I've tried unplugging individually but no joy. I've also checked the service status and run a line check and no fault are reported. I don't have a Virgin mobile so no option there.
