Are you sure it wasn't just a wrong number? I get loads of wrong numbers because my landline is only made up of two numbers repeated randomly. I just leave the answerphone to pick it up and ignore it if it's not for me.
I still think one of the unlawful marketing companys from abroad have been able to hack my phone if this sounds paranoid so be it, not much help from virgin they just block all calls other than those on your phone memory, there is no problem today Sunday. thanks for trying to help, good point about answer machine.

There's not a way for us to see if someone else is using your number fraudulently but from my experience this would be unlikely. In either case, a resolution to the issue could be a change of telephone number, if that's something you could go for?
You can request this by giving our team a call on 150 from any Virgin line or 0345 454 1111 from any other and speaking to our customer service team.
This will stop this activity happening in the quickest possible way.
Thankyou the problem seems to have gone away, no need to change number although marketing companies are still a problem for many people as long as I can see the number that's calling I can choose not to answer. Thanks again for your help.
