Still no land line

Hi after the first install by engineer everything working bar phone line.Engineer came on the 9th of January had an absolute nightmare communicating with virgin media saying the channel that was aloted to me 66 had the wrong number assigned to it then had an argument with virgin again saying that it not the customers job to get the number from BT its virgins job.The engineer told me that he’s connected to a different channel in the mux and was going to contact networks directly but it been over 24 hrs now and still no dial tone am ,I,mbeen charge for a service I’m not receiving
Any help would be great
