Phone dead and constant engaged tone

Hi,

I have a constant engaged tone and I am unable to make or receive any calls on my land line.

Hi

The line is stuck in busy mode and needs releasing at the exchange, this can be done without an engineer visit. Simply call 0345 454 1111 or if you do not have inclusive minutes or do not have a mobile, use a BT or New world payphone and call 08001831234 and select option 4 then option 2 and speak to faults.

Thanks, I called last night and they said they need to send an engineer.

I had this problem a few years ago before I got Virgin’s Phone service over my broadband and it didn’t need an engineer appointment.

Someone on the community forums was able to release the line.
