No dial tone since end of Oct

Hi

Bit of a saga but have had no dial tone on my phone since end of Oct.

Been away on holiday for a couple of weeks - hoping to get it sorted now.

 

Help!!!

I have checked your line and I'm unable to find any issues from here so before I arrange for a technician I'd just like to confirm whether you've tried another handset?

Thank for the swift reply.

I have a cordless house phone with 2 receivers??

My wife left in Oct & may have messed around with the plugs prior to leaving....

Hi Stuart, 

Thanks for coming back to us on this, Rose is off today so I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. 

As this is only one main base unit, it wouldn't rule the phone from being at fault, is it possible that you could try another phone plugged into the phone socket, or alternatively if you could try your phone plugged into a friend or family members working phone socket just to ensure it is the phone that is not faulty.

Hi Huw

Thanks for the reply will try & get another phone to test line.

Main base is upstairs & the Ext is in the kitchen (that one just runs off the mains)

I`ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hi

Still no dial tone

I havnt got another phone to test the socket & dont intend to buy one just for that purpose. I did the next best thing & tested my phone at my parents house & it worked fine. I think therefore there is a problem with the socket. Please can someone help...I would like this sorted please.

Thanks for coming back to me on this, having tried your phone on another line, this does rule out your phone from being at fault, so I'd now like to look into booking a technician to call out for you.
