New Phone

How do I get my old (still active)number ported to the new phone line please

Contact your new provider & ask them to port your number. They do all the rest, including cancelling your old account as part of the transfer.

I tried that, the provider is Talk Talk and they say virgin have got to contact them?

Hello marshyp,

 

Thanks for your post - sorry about any confusion here. 

 

Are you wanting to:

  1. Take your active Virgin Media number to another provider or
  2. Bring your active number that is currently with another provider to Virgin Media? 

If you want to take your Virgin Media number to another provider, your new provider will need to request the number from us. 

 

If you want to bring your number to Virgin Media then we need to request the number from your current provider.

Virgin have just installed the phone service and I want my old number ported over from Talk Talk.

Thanks so much for your reply - there is no reason as to why we can't get this arranged for you providing we have the capacity for the new number Smiley Happy 

 

Ensure you have not booked any form of disconnection with TalkTalk and then give us a call on 150/03454541111 and our Customer Care team can get this booked in for you. 

 

We advise it takes between 10 - 14 days from when requested. 

 

Please do pop back if you get stuck or need further assistance.

Have you booked a disconnection with Talk Talk as yet marshyp? 

 

We will not be able to process a number port if you have booked your disconnection.

Sorry about any confusion here marshyp, can you advise what you mean? With any provider, you usually have to give 30 days notice to leave. 

 

If you have given TalkTalk any notice to leave, we will not be able to process your port.
