Hi SIM card stopped working on my LG Spirit mobile but works fine in an older Samsung C3050. The help line says it must be a fault in the phone. Has anyone had this problem and can confirm that ordering a new sim will not work?

I can confirm that if a SIM works in one device but not another - it would indicate that it's a problem with the device in question.
When trying to use the SIM in the LG Spirit, do you get any specific error message or tone that would help us identify what the problem may be?
Hi Thanks for responding. I get the message "Service disabled" when the phone boots up.
If you Google LG "service disabled" you will find others that have had problems.
Check in your settings that the phone IMEI code isn't blank.
Yes when looking for online help, there are a number of people who have this issue with these phones.
Checked phone and in settings phone status says IMEI Unknown as does IMEI SV.
In this case it does seem to be an issue with the phone unfortunately.
Can I ask did you get the phone from ourselves?

Yes I did get the phone from Virgin over 2 years ago but I have since upgraded but I am using my new phone for work on a different SIM and wanted to continue using my LG spirit.
I think I was quoted £100 for a repair by Virgin which is not cost effective given the age and value of the phone.
I can appreciate as to why you would feel that way, this is because the phone is out of warranty within the manufactures guarantee.
