What info would the police request if I reported my mobile phone had been hacked?

Hi I have reported to the police that I believe my mobile phone is being hacked and important information has been deleted. I was just wondering what information and questions the police would request from virginmedia/mobile

Hello @Gladys38,

Welcome to the community page, thanks for posting on here.

We would not be able to deal with this, the customer service call centre would also not be able to help with this.

We have a specialised police liaison team who would deal with any request from the police.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks,

Hayley

If your phone has been hacked then it is a handset issue. Not sure what information Virgin would have in relation to this.

Most hacking comes from either malware downloaded to the phone or by the user using an open public WiFi network.

As mentioned, the Police have established processes for contacting Virgin Media and other communications providers in relation to criminal investigations if required.

They shouldn't ever need a customer to contact their provider of their behalf, unless it's just for copies of the same information you can get e.g. a copy of a bill.
