Voicemail "bye for now" message

I'm facing an issue with my voicemail. I am currently in Italy and when I try to call my voicemail, after I insert the pin correctly, the voice says "Thank for calling, bye for now" and doesn't let me listen to my messages.
I tried to access my voicemail calling my number and press * after the voicemail message started but I got other issues and didn't get to listen to my messages.

I need to have access and listen to those message as soon as possible.

Please let me know how I can address this problem.

nothing has changed. I tried to access my voicemail again from a different phone but still get the same "by for now" message.
