Vmail pin

Can anyone help me? Currently abroad. Need to access voicemail urgently. Says I need a pin? Tried 4 times and now locked out. I never set a pin. Tried ringing 789 and just rings out. Any ideas how I regain access to my voicemails. I’ve tried the text service also and get nowhere. So frustrating.
