Text Message failed

Bought an iphone11 and put in the virgin media SIM card that came with my bundle. I get unlimited texts and data.
I got a PAC code and transferred my old mobile no across. Not sure if that’s relevant.

Now I can’t send messages. I keep getting ‘message failed’. Sometimes my friends don’t receive them at all. Sometimes they get it 3 or 4 times. Please help.
thanks x

Hi Lmj2505,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're having.

Can you confirm if this is for iMessage or standard SMS?

It’s from standard SMS. WhatsApp and messenger work fine

Thank you for confirming this @Lmj2505,

Please can you try the following:

Settings > Phone > My number

Is it showing the correct number that you want to use?

Let me know please 🙂

No, it still shows the original phone number on the SIM. I got a PAC code and transferred my old number across but the is numbers isn’t showing.

Try signing out of you Apple ID. Switch off the phone, sign in to your Apple ID again then start the phone

Thanks for coming back to us @Lmj2505.

Would you be able to try the advice from @enlli and let us know how it goes?

Regards,

Steven_L

I tried the advice given and it didn’t work I’m afraid

That's no problem @Lmj2505 and thanks for trying that out.

Are you able to receive text messages?

Would you please try to send a message entering the number instead of using the number from your contacts?

Regards,

Steven_L
