Switching from Sim only contract to Monthly

Hope someone can help. I’m on a sim only Virgin deal at the moment but I signed up to a monthly contract today. 

I forgot to ask when ordering, when do I cancel my sim only deal and switch over to the monthly?

I’m  assuming it’s as soon as I get the new phone, but I just wanted to be sure.

SIM Only plans and Freestyle plans work in basically the same way apart from the minimum term you agree to, and the additional handset payment.

So if you're upgrading your existing SIM Only plan mobile number to include a device, the new Freestyle plan contract will be added automatically.
