Stolen number?

I believe that someone has stolen my number. I received a text yesterday from Virgin Media with a PAC code. I have never requested a code. Went on Whatsapp chat and was assured that the PAC code had been cancelled as I had not requested it. Changed my Virgin mobile password. Now today I find that my number PAC Code  has been completed.  My mobile number has disappeared from my Virgin mobile account and when I try to add the number it says that it is not a VM number. I tried calling lost and stolen but was told to call back at 8am tomorrow. I have no mobile number and am totally raging as I was assured that everything was cancelled and there was nothing to worry about!!!!!
