Smartwatch

I am thinking of getting a Samsung smartwatch but have read that Virgin mobile isn't compatible with them, is this correct? (I'm not very tech savvy) If so, has anybody actually got a smartwatch and how do you connect it to your phone? Tia x

We have 3 in our household, though they are all 2 years or older. Have never had a issue.
