For the third time this year I am abroad and my sim card is not being recognised on my galaxy s7 edge. No phone or internet all holiday. Called virgin several times about this but no help and don't want to ruin holiday with call centres. All my account settings for calls abroad are ok (i checked, virgin checked) and data roaming is enabled but still no joy. (Calls nor internet - zip working). Am on my second sim card this year and still same problem. Put sim card in another phone whilst abroad (galaxy s8 if it matters) still same problem. APN settings all as recommended (I now know more about connection settings than I ever wanted to!). HELP suggestions pls. Unless fixed i will have to move network but really want to avoid the hassle if possible....if it's relevant I get issues in the UK with my sim going a bit funny after connecting to the car- 'remote sim not recognised' and I have to take it out to get the internet working on mobile data again.

Same issue here, is the second time I am abroad and the Sim is not registering on the network.
I have checked my roaming was active before travelling. I have tried selecting the operator and changing APN settings but no luck. Reset the Phone network settings, then I have done a factory reset to no avail. The Sim does not work on other phones either. Meanwhile I am stuck with no access to Virgin support via text and via phone, and I am told live chat is not available for this issues.... very disappointed
For those with roaming problems and have SIM cards issued in the last 22 months or so
Having checked roaming is on and international call barring off
For Android: Select Apps from the Home Screen Select SIM Toolkit Icon Select Roaming Select Select Mode Select Manual Select International-you are done, go back to Home Screen
To Switch back when in the UK: Select Apps from Home screen Select Virgin SIM Toolkit Icon Select Roaming Select Select Mode Select Automatic and go back to Home Screen
For iOS: Select Settings from the Home Screen Select Phone Icon Select SIM Applications Select Roaming Select Select mode Select Manual Select International and you are done, go back Home screen to retry
To change back when returning to the UK: Select Settings from the Home Screen Select Phone Icon Select SIM Applications Select Roaming Select Select mode Select Automatic mode - you are done, go back to Home screen **It is critical that you set the SIM roaming applet back to Automatic mode once in the UK or you will not be able to access service when you return.**
