Scam?

Hi so I have just had a call from an American woman on the number 0345 045 0586 saying she is from virgin media, I was confused at first because I am up to date with my phone bill so why would I be getting a call? She knew my name and asked me to confirm the last 4 digits of my password, why would somebody ask for my password before even telling me what the call is about?
