Just returned from the Isle of Man. Was there from Sunday 7th April to Thursday 11th April 2019. No mobile access was available for the whole time tried to connect automatically and manually. Fortunately my wife was on EE and her phone worked on both Manx Telecom and Sure. Having read previous posts from last August 2018 I would have assumed that this problem would have been well resolved. This is my first post in the Community so apologies if the protocol is incorrect. ps just checked my mobile bill and I have been charged 1p for internet access when I first arrived on the island!!!

We have different agreements compared to other providers and cannot guarantee a roaming connection in all areas unfortunately. Did you enable roaming before you left to make sure that your roaming profile is on? Please see this link with regards to our Roaming.
As you've advise the settings on your mobile are correct, did you also get in touch with our customer service team to ensure roaming was enabled on your account before going away?
Roaming settings are set to off as default with our accounts to ensure customers don't unintentionally encounter any unexpected charges. As well as speaking to our customer service team this can also be enabled through your online account. My Virgin Mobile
The Isle Of Man and the Channel Islands have had problems with roaming with the new purple SIM's.
If lucky, you can get roaming working by playing with the SIM Toolkit app:-
Select Apps from the Home Screen Select Virgin SIM Toolkit Icon Select Roaming Select Select Mode Select Manual Select International-you are done, go back to Home Screen To Switch back when in the UK: Select Apps from Home screen Select Virgin SIM Toolkit Icon Select Roaming Select Select Mode Select Automatic and go back to Home Screen For iOS: Select Settings from the Home Screen Select Phone Icon Select SIM Applications Select Roaming Select Select mode Select Manual Select International and you are done, go back Home screen to retry To change back when returning to the UK: Select Settings from the Home Screen Select Phone Icon Select SIM Applications Select Roaming Select Select mode Select Automatic mode - you are done, go back to Home screen
