Replacment SIM card no service

I have received a new SIM card as my other one is stuck in my old phone and can't get it out. I popped the new SIM into my phone as instructed but haven't had any service in it since it's been in. my phone isn't registering the SIM card. I've tried the SIM in sisters phone and its the same problem. I've put a different SIM into my phone and had service. It's not the phone it's the SIM that's not working. It's says it can take up to 24 hrs to work but it's now been 34 hrs and still no service. It's says 'emergancy calls only'. 

 

Any help on how to resolve this? I haven't got a phone to ring VM up, as mine isn't registering a network and haven't got any available. Its a bit of a wind up as I pay for my contract and I cannot even use it.

I am very sorry to hear this has happened, Just to confirm the phone you have is unlocked to use our network,  Was the sim change to our new purple sim cards by the way?
