Porting number is not being updated for iMessage

Hi There, 

I was using lyca and last month switched to virgin keeping my old number but unfortunately I won’t able to retain my number for iMessage or iCloud. On my device the mobile number says different. 

I’ve tried to reach customer support couple of times but no luck. Can you please help me with this.

I'd advise to wait a week for this to register.

If the issue is still present then pop back up and we'll investigate it further.

I’m not sure. @enlli suggested it. 

I really need this to work. I just got this message from Apple. 

Because in order for you to be able send her an SMS, you would need to have an active wireless carrier with your device and has a valid number.


Not all of my contacts have iPhones.

Apple suggested resetting to see if my ported number works then. So I’m waiting until I can perform a backup first.
