Porting issue - can't receive calls or texts

Hi,

I ported my number over to Virgin yesterday and although I can make calls and send texts, I can't receive these.

Has something gone awry with the porting? I haven't been able to get through to anyone in Customer Service through the usual channels and am pretty desperate to get this fixed!

Hi - same thing happened to me on Friday. Did your problem get resolved, any advice?

Hi,

Yes, I did! The issue was to do with iMessage so the fix that worked for me was to go to Settings -> Messages and then toggle iMessage to off. Then, if you restart your phone, when it reboots the issue should be resolved. Wait a few minutes and you can turn iMessage back on. 

In case you’re also having issues with using your personal hotspot too (like I was) - you can fix this by going to Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options. Scroll down to the section with the heading Personal Hotspot (it’s probably the last one), and type in internet next to the APN field. This should fix any hotspot issues.
