Why does my phone not connect to a good Wifi signal for a few hours after returning from abroad?
Yesterday I tried to connect to Wifi in the BA Lounge at Heathrow. It showed as Connected but it wasn't - emails I wrote showed as 'Queued for later' and emails I knew had been sent to me weren't there. Couldn't use the phone either.
Settings showed as being on Virgin.
Only after I'd got home over 2 hours later did emails and texts start moving in and out.
This was no help at all when I needed to phone someone on arrival at the airport.
This is the second time this has happened. Last time I phoned Virgin from my landline only to be told this was because the phone thought I was still abroad.
Yesterday was the first time I went out since returning from hols and wanted to use my phone's internet. Had been on home router wifi before. No joy. Have tried your Toolkit suggestion, unfortunately. Phoned Virgin who went through all the Network selection etc but nothing. Phone calls and messages fine. But no mobile data connection. No icon showing for it either. Virgin said to keep trying for 24 hours when they'll phone me back.
