Not asked for SIM pin

Hi all, 

Previous phone was destroyed when soaked earlier in the week. New phone and SIM have arrived but when the SIM is inserted, I get SIM not provisioned MM#2.

After reading around that seems solvable when you put the 7890 pin in, but I've tried putting the SIM in several times, and nowhere am I asked to put a pin in, so I can't activate the SIM 

Wonder if anyone else has had this, and how to solve

Just sounds like Virgin have not activated the new SIM ready for use.

Phoning in would be quickest way, 150 from a Virgin landline or mobile, 0345 600 0789 from any other phone.  You could also have a look in your online account to see if there is a activation switch for the new SIM.
