I have recently realised that some texts people have sent me have not arrived, including several from Google to verify my Gmail identity.
My parents both have phones on the O2 network, they can both text each other and I can text both of them but neither of them can text me, that is I receive nothing.
I have been on to VM support and they reset my network settings and powered the phone off and on several times but without success.
I transferred my VM sim into one of my parents phones and texted my number from my other parents phone and guess what, I received nothing. So at least I know the problem is the sim card or VM and not my phone.
I am receiving texts fine from other people.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to resolve this I would appreciate it.
I have been on VM with this sim and number for twelve months but I signed up to a new sim only twelve month contract only a few days ago. I would hope a new contract wouldn't affect some incoming text messages.
Suddenly two days ago I received all the test messages I sent several days before from both O2 phones and now everything seems to be working. VM support were very good and they sent me a new sim last week which is due to arrive. I am reluctant to activate and use the new sim now there doesn't appear to be a problem. Will I encounter problems with my service if I don't use the new sim?
