It is 11/08/18 and despite my sending a second letter to Virgin Signed For 1st Class on 06/08/18, I still have not received a response from Virgin.

It is now 16/10/18 and Virgin has still not resolved my problem with their Virgin (purple) SIM card.

I note that nobody at Virgin has got back to me on this.

There is clearly a problem with these purple SIM cards and Virgin is in DENIAL about this to their customers.

I can't really see the point in this forum as it certainly has not helped me.

Basically if a Virgin customer sees through the lies that they are being feed customers will not get a response (see above).

If so, I don't think the new Virgin SIM will ever be configured to run on that phone, seeing as it's getting on now and running a special OS.  These new SIM'S are even having troubles with older standard Android versions of OS.

Time for you to move provider I think.  If in contract, surely as they can't provide a service for your phone - the contract should be void.

It is strange. My old N95 8GB (Symbian) is still running ok on the VM SIM though.

Is that with one of the new purple SIM's, if so, that blew my theory out of the window then. lol

Thank you teabag and mavericke2018 for your responses.

Teabag - yes that is my phone albeit mine is a different colour.

As I stated in my initial post on 15/06/18 "I inserted a new Virgin SIM card today and since then my N97 mobile phone is no longer working properly. Yes, I know it is an old phone but I have never had any problems with it until today when I inserted the new SIM card".

My old Virgin SIM card worked perfectly as did my phone, it is the Virgin (purple) SIM cards which are the problem.

Please note it was Virgin who originally sold me this phone so they are well aware of what mobile phone I have got and yet they sold me something which I suspect they knew would not work.

As I said on 26/06/18 "My mobile phone which was working fine for many years has been broken with the insertion of the new Virgin SIM card".

I have not had a mobile phone since 15/06/18.

THIS FORUM IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SINGLE PIECE OF USEFUL INFORMATION FROM ANYBODY ON HERE.

I HAVE NOT HAD A WORKING MOBILE PHONE SINCE JUNE 2018, THIS IS DUE TO VIRGIN'S FAULTY PURPLE SIM CARD.

THE LETTERS I RECEIVE FROM VIRGIN ARE DELIBERATELY EVASIVE AND DO NOT TACKLE MY PROBLEM.

THIS EPISODE HAS MADE ME HATE VIRGIN AND I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR YEARS.

I NOW BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE A DISGUSTING COMPANY WITH NO REGARD FOR LOYAL CUSTOMERS LIKE MYSELF.

MR TOM MOCKRIDGE SHOULD HANG HIS HEAD IN SHAME.

KEEP TAKING THE FAT SALARY TOM AND LEAVE IT TO THE LOW PAID INADEQUATE MINIONS AT SWANSEA TO SEND PATHETIC NONSENSICAL REPLIES TO CUSTOMERS COMPLAINTS.
