No network after returning from abroad

Pebbles7
Tuning in

I returned from a long spell abroad. I used my phone just before boarding, no problem. On arrival I needed to phone my friend to arrange pick up from the airport but could not connect. At all. I have spoken to a Virgin representative, usual tests, on-off, SIM card in a different phone, etc. No connection. I was told the SIM card was faulty! Highly unlikely. Using the phone abroad for months without any problems but as soon as I arrive in the UK, trying to use my UK phone with a UK account the SIM card stops working. A new SIM card is on the way but might take 5 days to arrive. Having been abroad for a while there are many issues to deal with, my phone is essential. Surely there must be a solution????

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community Forums, Pebbles7,

If the SIM has been tested in another handset and the behaviour is the same then the SIM will need replacing. It might also be worth checking under the SIM Toolkit settings if the roaming option is manual or automatic.

Cheers,
